Trip to Manitou Springs

For "Black Friday" (the day after Thanksgiving for those of you who live under a rock) we decided to spend the evening in Manitou Springs -- a small little city on the outskirts of Co. Springs. My cousin, his wife and 2 kids also stopped by for a visit, and since none of us are super big shoppers, Manitou felt like the perfect place to inaugurate the Christmas holiday. The festivities featured Santa arriving on a firetruck along with an array of fireworks, christmas lights and hot chocolate. Sadly, my camera gave out early that evening so I was only able to get a few pictures. Here are a few:

I wish this picture did Manitou Springs justice. It really is a cool little town and they did an excellent job of decorating for the Christmas season.

It really was a lot of fun. If you are ever in the Co. Springs area do try to pay Manitou Springs a visit. Not only is it conveniently on your way to Pike's Peak, but the town has a lot of neat little attractions that will make your stop worthwhile.
